Arbitration System of Consumption:
Organizations which play a role in the System

Two types of organizations intervene, one representing the administration of the arbitration which are the Courts of Arbitration, and others, the Arbitration Boards which are those who have the concrete knowledge of the conflict and emit the arbitration. Those are designated for each concrete case.

The Courts Arbitration of Consumption can exist at city, federation of cities, provincial and regional level. Moreover, there is a National Court of Arbitration which is qualified for requests for arbitration whose territorial framework exceeds the Regional area and since the consumers and users are affected by conflicts which exceed this same framework.

To which Court the consumers have to go?

1) To the one corresponding to the residence of the consumer.

2) If where the consumer lives, there is more than one Court, preference will be granted to the one of smallest territorial level.

3) But in any case, there will be safeguarded the freedom of election of the Court by the parts.

These courts are composed of a president and a secretary, charges which personally fall on the service of the Public administrations.

There currently exist:

  • 1 National Arbitration Court
  • 18 Regional Arbitration Courts
  • 10 Provincial Arbitration Courts
  • 2 Federation of Communes Arbitration Courts
  • 40 Local Arbitration Courts
